Toy haul

I’ve spent my monthly allowance! Haha!

The Pawise chew n floss octopus has taken over as Amber’s favourite toy. She spend hours a night throwing it around, rolling on the rug with it, and chewing the tentacles! At only $8 AUD it’s been a great buy.

Next up we have the famous Kong Wishbone

The Wishbone has been great for smearing a bit of peanut butter in. I find it easy to clean and it’s very durable. A good indoor toy at $20 AUD.
Next up is the Cuckoo Bumpies

I LOVE this toy so much. It’s just as durable as the kong Classics and has walls inside so it takes longer to be figured out. I’ve been filling it with dry kibble, and it fits around 1 cup. This was only around $15 AUD and is a great alternative to the Kong Classics.

Overall, Amber was pretty happy with her new toys! (Not quite as happy waiting to play) haha

Variety with a Kong

I’ve  been trying to think of different ways to use a Kong and today i came up with a good one!

I got on of Amber’s old leads, filled a kong with kibble, and hung it up!

It didn’t take her long to figure out! I think we are going to have a lot fun with this one ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ˜€

Cheap and home made!

One of the quickest and easiest ways to feed kibble to your pupper!

If I’m pushed for time I’ll grab a few empty toilet rolls, scrunch the ends in, fill them with kibble, and scrunch the other ends.
Amber loves this game because she gets to rip up some card board along the way like the little gremlin she is ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿถ

Snuffle mats!

A bit of DIY coming your way.

This is the snuffle mat i made for Amber (featuring the big goof herself). Amber sniffs a lot when she’s overwhelmed, which is why i thought a snuffle mat would suit her so well.

I spread dry kibble through the mat and she goes to town sniffing! Once she’s done, she’s all tuckered out and has a nap ๐Ÿ™‚

Snuffle mats are time consuming to make, and can be bought pre made. I bought a rubber mat with a honeycomb cut our pattern on it and some fabric from spotlight. Basically, you cut strips of fabric and tie them through the holes of the mat.

These are a really great indoor game and there are lots of tutorials on how to make them online  ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ•

Wet and dry

The Kong Wobbler is another favourite of mine and Amber’s. I use both dry food, and cooked mince in this one:

The Wobbler’s base is weighted, which means it wobbles around rather than rolling. This toy is great for indoors as play noise is minimal!

This toy retails for around 40AUD, which  is a little on thr expensive side. BUT Amber is a power chewer, and this toy have proven to be very durable. It is a hard plastic unlike the classic Kongs.

Throw out your feed bowls!

Using different vessels to feed your dog is such an easy way to enrich their lives.

My all time favourite store bought treat toy is the Purina Play Systems treat ball:

This is a treat dispensing ball, which there are LOADS of on the market. The reason i like this one is that it has a sort of puzzle inside, so it slows down the flow of food coming out. I think this toy is only appropriate for dry food, otherwise it could get messy!

Amber loves rolling this ball around the yard! It probably takes her around 20 minutes to eat 1 cup of dry food from this.

I bought this toy for around 20AUD. It’s proven to be very durable!

More toys, including cheap home made activities to come ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ
